Capt. David Duplantis
Welcome to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office District 13 City of Belle Glade website. My name is Captain David Duplantis, and I am honored to serve as the Commanding Officer of District 13 and the Law Enforcement Liaison for the City of Belle Glade.
My goals and objectives are centered on building trust, strengthening partnerships, and enhancing community relationships throughout Belle Glade. I believe the most effective policing occurs when community members and law enforcement work together in unity to accomplish common goals.
After graduating from high school, I proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where I completed a four-year enlistment that instilled in me the values of discipline, service, and leadership. I began my law enforcement career in 1991 as a municipal police officer and joined the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office in 1994.
Throughout my career with PBSO, I have had the privilege of serving in a wide range of assignments, including investigative and tactical roles. I have also served in several supervisory and command positions within the Western Region including Road Patrol Sergeant, Street Team Sergeant, and Watch Commander/Lieutenant many of which allowed me to work directly in and alongside the Belle Glade community.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Barry University. In support of continued professional development, I completed the Senior Management Institute for Police at Boston University and graduated from the 142nd Administrative Officers Course at the Southern Police Institute, University of Louisville.
I am deeply proud of my Cajun heritage and was born and raised in small towns in south Louisiana, communities very similar to Belle Glade. This background has given me a strong appreciation for close-knit communities, cultural traditions, and the challenges faced by working families. I am familiar with the unique needs of this community and value the trust and resilience of its residents.
As Captain of District 13, I am honored to serve alongside the dedicated sworn and non-sworn personnel assigned to the district. Together, we look forward to continuing to strengthen the bond between the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and the Belle Glade community through collaboration, respect, and service.
